Founded in October 1981, Tavares Animal Hospital has proudly served the pets and families of Central Florida for over four decades. Nestled in the heart of Tavares, our full-service animal hospital is known for its legacy of compassionate care, clinical excellence, and personalized service.
With a team of five experienced veterinarians and seventeen staff members, we offer comprehensive medical, surgical, and wellness services for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and small mammals. We combine modern veterinary medicine in a warm, welcoming environment, ensuring every patient receives the thoughtful, individualized attention they deserve.

An American Animal Hospital Association accreditation signifies that a veterinary practice has met or exceeded stringent quality standards that encompass all aspects of veterinary medicine and has committed to a path of continuous improvement. Fewer than 15% of veterinary practices in the United States are AAHA accredited because you must consistently demonstrate excellence in everything you do.
To become an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital, the practice must meet or exceed hundreds of standards. These standards cover all aspects of veterinary care and business and are constantly evolving to stay up-to-date with advancements in veterinary medicine and help hospitals stay at the forefront of the profession. Veterinary hospitals must meet standards in the following categories: Patient Care, Anesthesia, Surgery, Dentistry, Pain Management, Emergency and Critical Care and Laboratory among others.
The hospital undergoes an intense accreditation process every three years in order to maintain the AAHA certification. We have worked very hard to achieve this high level of care, and we are proud of the fact that we have maintained our AAHA accreditation since 1996.
