at Tavares Animal Hospital

APPOINTMENT POLICY:

To allow ample time for all patients, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases will always receive top priority. Often times, a patient will require more time due to an injury or illness. On occasion, a client will require more time and support when having to make difficult decisions. Due to the nature of veterinary medicine the occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make every attempt to see each client on time while continuing to give excellent care.

PAYMENT POLICY:

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash and personal checks.

PRESCRIPTIONS POLICY:

Please give us a minimum of 24 hours notice for our staff to gain doctor approval and refill all prescriptions.

For outside pharmacies please contact the pharmacy to request a refill and the pharmacy will contact us for approval if needed.

For online pharmacies please order your prescription and the pharmacy will contact us for approval if needed.

PATIENT ARRIVAL POLICY:

For the protection of our patients and clients, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area. Retractable leashes must be shortened and in a locked position.

All cats must be in an appropriate cat carrier or other enclosure.

All birds, reptiles and small mammals must be in an appropriate enclosure for the species.

Please let us know if you need a leash, carrier or other type of enclosure and we will be happy to provide one for your visit.

Due to the possible exposure to viruses, if your pet has recently been adopted from a shelter or rescue we will ask that you please call us from your vehicle upon arrival. When the doctor is ready for your pet we will come to your vehicle and escort your pet to an isolation room for their exam. Even if your pet appears healthy we will use an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our other patients.

Before bringing your pet into the waiting room please inform our staff if your dog or cat is sneezing, coughing, has eye discharge or any other respiratory symptoms.

If you need help bringing your pet into the building for any reason please give us a call when you arrive. We are happy to help.
